Original ClickUp Content
Need to collaborate with people outside your Workspace? We heard you! Now you can share any ClickUp whiteboard externally to align more efficiently than ever!
To publicly share a whiteboard, navigate to the whiteboard you want to share and click the Share button in the top right corner.
Then, activate the toggle for “Share publicly” and copy the link to share with whoever needs access.
People with the link can view and edit the whiteboard in real-time, making it perfect for collaborative sessions with clients, vendors, or external partners.
Why Share Whiteboards?
- Client Collaboration: Involve clients directly in wireframing, process mapping, or strategy sessions
- Vendor Alignment: Ensure external partners understand requirements and can provide input
- Stakeholder Feedback: Gather feedback from stakeholders outside your organization on visual plans
- Transparency: Build trust by showing your thinking and planning processes
- Efficiency: Eliminate the need to recreate diagrams in separate tools for external parties
Share Settings
You can control who sees your whiteboard:
- View Only: External users can see but cannot edit the whiteboard
- Edit: External users can make changes to the whiteboard (default)
- Disable Sharing: Revoke access anytime by toggling off the share link
Security Considerations
- Sharing is done via secure link – no login required for recipients
- You can disable sharing at any time
- Changes made by external users are tracked and attributed
- Consider what sensitive information might be visible on your whiteboard before sharing
Best Practices
- Clearly communicate the purpose of the whiteboard to external collaborators
- Set expectations on what feedback or input you’re looking for
- Review any changes made by external users before committing to decisions
- Clean up sensitive information before sharing
This feature makes ClickUp Whiteboards a powerful tool for cross-organizational collaboration. Whether you’re working with clients, agencies, or partners, public sharing breaks down collaboration barriers.
